It’s a long way to the start, Mark feels

You can get to Tipperary faster

Can 8 old men and their wheels

Get to Cork without disaster?

Ten hours by car door to door

Can give you a bit of a thirst

But the boys in the Belfast corps 

Hit the Guinness in Temple Bar first.

But at Clancy’s we all get together 

Dull till we were shown the roof terrace

Great banter in sunny Cork weather 

Then Ramblin’ House rocked the whole place.

I go off to Cobh on my car stint

While the pedallers dodge the big ridge

St Colman’s Cathedral looks mint

And I catch the others at Ladysbridge.

Sausage rolls or scones at the nursery?

We nearly give the waitress a fit

In his word test Den claims modest victory 

Till she finally admits that she googled it.

The highlight of Youghall is the Watch Tower

Tim stops to take a few pics

We circle around, then Gary hears the sound

Of his sealant needing a fix.

Past Ardmore we hit a road block

Which the foreman won’t let us get past

We cross a field of nettle and dock

The jobsworth’s completely aghast.

A long day for all that did the lot

And great to get to Dungarvan 

The constant headwind left some of them shot 

But they all agreed they were starvin’!
