The Road to Golspie

We’ve been advised by all those that knows
That the coast road from here’s a mad scramble
We divert the route to Forsinard Flows
A good place for the ladies to ramble.

It’s beautiful, the pass through Forsinard
A strong headwind the only but
Twenty miles of working far too hard
Gave us time to think of a shortcut

We looked at the route, we looked at the map
Glen Loth will save loads of time
No need to fret, no need to flap
There is only one small climb.

But fate can take you unawares
On small details all life teeters
Not using the app with too much care
What I’d thought were feet were metres!

But the climb was great, the climb was grand
And it felt more calm and clear
Magnificent views over all the land
And two herds of wild red deer.

Eventually we couldn’t avoid the A9
What a really horrible road
We went as far as we could in the time
Just to reduce our next day’s load.
