(With apologies to the Proclaimers)
Great start to the day, I’m soon on my way
From happiness to misery Ah-ha
Rain clouds are brewing, gotta do what I’m doing
Making the most of my liberty Ah-ha
The harbours round here, hardly used I fear
Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther
But the East Fife trail ends in Crail
And it couldn’t be much smoother
After coffee and scone, the headwind is gone
But I’m still well ahead of the rains
In St Andrews’ a throng, then the boys come along
Once Tim’s viewed the ancient remains
Tentmuir rough track, along which we hack
Through pine forest down to the shore
My mind can be thorough and it’s so like Newborough
I expect Wiwer Goch by the store
This is the story of finding my serenity
I get out of breath but it’s now a necessity
People, I'm making no claims to no mystery
But sometimes I’m sad when my bike ride’s all history
It’s over and done with, it’s over and done with
It’s over and done with, it’s over and done with
