Our caravan by Loch Eriboll
Is surrounded by beasts short and tall
There are llamas, alpacas
Turkeys that attack us
Dogs ducks goats lambs and all.
Weird books, and Den’s read ‘em
Odd words, and Den’s said ‘em
But the girl in the caff
Thinks he’s having a laugh
She’s Scots and she’s not heard of “smeddum”.
To vegan diets Claire and Mel adhere
From meat and fish they stay well clear
They get quite demented
Over food that’s fermented
It’s strange that they’re less fond of beer
Of their ingredients I used to be wary
Now tempeh is no longer so scary
They like to make merry
With all kinds of berry
And their porridge is legendary.
Another day of majestical scenery
Gorse rampant from no farm machinery
It lies like a quilt
Of egg yolk spilt
More golden than gilt
‘Mongst the granite, the heather and the greenery.
