Spurning breakfast at the hotel, we started out along the Chichester canal towpath to Bognor before stopping in bright sunshine for some welcome nosh in the Lobsterpot.
Littlehampton and Worthing are a blur, but Tim and Mark took a swim there, then along the coast to Shoreham SSI before turning inland up the Downs link to Tim’s place in Haywards Heath, where we enjoyed a fine barbecue and were astonished by Toby’s encyclopaedic knowledge of football trivia. I have a note on file that Derek exposed himself at some point in the day but I have no memory of what that is about.
